The new "Tubolare" axles sets have taken almost a year and a half to develop, but they appear to well worth the wait.  While these are specifically desinged for the Tubolare rear trailing arms, they can be adapted to the standard trailing arm, so long as the trailing arms are modified.  These modifications include making room for the outboard CV, and modifying the bearing housing bolt pattern to a Fiat 850 carrier bolt pattern.  The entire axle arrangement is a "system", and as such the parts are not interchangable with other axle systems.

The entire tubolare axle system consists of 4 modules, with the 4th module being optional.

1)  Side plate and gearbox stub axle.  This assembly includes a billet  6061-T6 aluminium side plate, a sealed roller bearing, and a short stub axle.  The stub axle is made of SAE 4340 steel, and hardened to Rc 42.  The The stub axle is designed to ulitize the standard Fiat cross-pin and stones at one end and has a Type 1 CV bell flange at other end.  Part # 12-31 - Set of 2 Gearbox side plate and stub axle $682.80 (478 Euro) per set of 2.



2) Drive axle - The axle is again made from SAE 4340 steel, hardened to Rc42 and splined at both ends for a Type 1 CV joint.  The splines on the axles are "rolled" splines for increased strength.  The axles come complete with boots and all hardware.  Part # 12-27  Set of 2 drive axle with CV joints (4) Price $502.00 (352 Euro) per set of 2



3) Trailing Arm Axle Assembly - This part of the system took the longest time to develop.  The bearing carrier is made of 6061-T6 aluminium, based on the design used on my own race car since 2001.  The wheel hub is an original, cast steel Fiat item (Fiat 128).  The axle is made from SAE 4340 steel, with rolled splines at each end.  One end has 20 tooth splines to accept the Fiat wheel hub and the other end 33 tooth splines to accept the Type 1 CV flange.  Part # 12-28  Trailing Arm Axle and Bearing Carrier (Set of 2)  Price $1032.80 (723 Euro) per set of 2.



4)  Rear Disc Brake Option - The optional rear brake system was designed to be compatible with the axle system and includes Willwood aluminum calipers, brake pads, caliper mounting plate, Coleman grooved rotor and aluminum center hat and fixing bolts.  Part # 14-17  Rear Disc Brake System  $1001.60 (700 Euro) per set of 2.
